MEEt the artist

JAROD COX

My career as an artist finds its roots in the banks of Fishing Creek in southeastern Kentucky. It is there that I began collecting rock specimens and molding small beads from the blue clay that I found in my backyard.

Upon graduating high school, I shifted my focus more broadly to studio arts, attending Berea College where I learned the basics of woodworking, printmaking, ceramics and silversmithing. After completing my degree, I launched Fishing Creek Jewelry; which is comprised solely of my original jewelry designs inspired by the rugged beauty and rich heritage of Appalachia.

A RARE KENTUCKY TREASURE: KENTUCKY AGATE

My work often features locally sourced stones that I have cut and polished by hand, then set into custom crafted bezels. Kentucky agate and quartz feature prominently throughout my collections, and I employ various techniques like sawing, fusing and soldering metal pieces together to craft unique, memorable, heirloom-quality pieces.

HANDCRAFTED IN THE USA

Each piece in my shop is handcrafted from start to finish using high quality materials such as sterling silver, copper, and 14k gold. All included necklace chains are sterling silver. If you have any questions please feel free to send me a message using the contact form below.
